Akela Renae is a first-time author and published her first novella, The Cost of Baggage in 2015. The story idea came to her in the form of a dream and she decided it was time to fulfill her lifelong goal of becoming an author.
Akela graduated from Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education and a Master’s in Healthcare Administration at Texas Woman’s University in Houston, Texas. Akela Renae knew early on that by furthering her career in healthcare, it would help fund her writing career. She calls theseher Plan A and B.
Akela is already working on her second novel and lives in Dallas, TX.

With a rewarding career and a potential new love interest, Monique Daniels is at a crossroads in life.
