about the book

Morning Rounds with God

Morning Rounds with God: Daily Prayers for Strength in Every Season of Life is a powerful collection of daily prayers for people walking through real life with real wounds and real hope. Written by physician, public servant, and former U.S. Army medical officer Eric Mansfield, MD, MPH, this book reflects his firsthand understanding of pain and his deep conviction about what prayer can do in places medicine cannot fully reach.

This devotional speaks to those with “amputated souls” who are carrying grief, disappointment, trauma, fear, fatigue, and battles they can’t always name. Each entry pairs Scripture with emotionally resonant prayers that call readers back to courage, healing, peace, and deeper trust in God.

With the urgency of a doctor making daily rounds and the compassion of a spiritual caregiver tending souls, Dr. Mansfield ministers to the broken places many hide from the world. For anyone in need of strength for the next step and faith for the next season, this book offers language for the heart and hope for the journey ahead.
